Getting cited by AI takes preparation.
Your customers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini, and Google now answers at the top of the page itself. In that world, ranking first is no longer enough: you need to be the source the AI cites. That is GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, and we already run it in production.
approach
Four levers, one report
Complete structured data (organisation, products, FAQ, reviews), an llms.txt file, AI crawlers allowed rather than blocked, fast and clean pages. The AI has to be able to read you before it cites you.
Clear answers to the questions your customers actually ask, sourced facts, dated figures. Models reuse what is clear and verifiable, not marketing fluff.
Mentions on third-party sites, reviews, consistent directory listings, presence in the sources AIs consult. What AIs say about you depends on what the web says about you.
We regularly query the AIs on your key questions and measure whether you are cited, by which one, and how. A report, not a feeling.

A coffee roaster cited by AI
For an artisan coffee roaster, we opened the site to AI crawlers, added an llms.txt, enriched the structured data, and added agentic commerce: AI agents can browse the catalogue and prepare an order. GEO and SEO reinforce each other: the same technical rigour serves both.
GEO does not replace SEO. It extends it to where your customers now search.

FAQ
GEO, AEO, LLMO: are they the same thing?
Three names for one idea: being picked up by AI-based answer engines. We say GEO because it is the most widespread term. What matters is the method, not the acronym.
Should I let AI crawlers read my site?
If you want to be cited, yes. Blocking GPTBot or PerplexityBot means vanishing from their answers. We configure it carefully: allow reading for citation, protect what needs protecting.
How long before results?
Technical fixes are picked up within weeks. Authority builds over months, as in SEO. Citation tracking shows you the progress instead of promising it.
